The Birch Hotel offers relaxed, welcoming dining for both hotel guests and local visitors. Whether you’re joining us for dinner in the Bistro Bar or settling in for a traditional afternoon tea, you can expect carefully prepared menus, a thoughtfully chosen wine and drinks selection, and friendly, professional service in comfortable surroundings.

Evening Dining – Bistro Bar

Dinner is served in our welcoming Bistro Bar from 6:15pm to 9:00pm, Monday to Saturday. Our menus focus on well-prepared, comforting dishes made with care, complemented by a thoughtfully chosen wine list and drinks selection.

Alongside our main menu, we also offer:

  • A Bar Snack Menu for lighter bites

  • A Weekly Specials Menu, showcasing seasonal favourites

Menus change regularly to reflect the seasons, and desserts are updated frequently, so what you see online may not always be the current menu.

Please note: On some weekends, particularly Fridays and Saturdays, weddings or private functions may be taking place. For larger groups (10+ guests), this can occasionally limit dinner availability. We always recommend checking ahead so we can advise you properly.

Afternoon Tea in our Lounge

Our traditional afternoon tea is served in our oak-panelled lounge, a calm and characterful space ideal for catching up with friends, quiet celebrations or simply treating yourself.

Available:

  • Monday to Friday and Sunday

  • 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Afternoon tea includes:

  • A selection of freshly prepared sandwiches

  • Scones

  • Macaroons

  • Mini fruit tarts and cakes

You can also add a glass of sparkling wine to make the occasion extra special.
